Oregano is a very potent essential oil and has a tradition of use that goes back centuries. Oregano essential oil is extracted from the fragrant leaves of the oregano plant, Origanum vulgare, and has found its way into cookbooks and spice cabinets around the world. The main chemical component of oregano is carvacrol, a phenol that makes it one of the most versatile and powerful essential oils available. When used externally, oregano should be diluted with a carrier oil.

application

  • Put a drop of the oil in pasta or pizza sauce or on a roast instead of dried oregano.
  • Combine oregano and peppermint essential oils with a carrier oil and you get a warming massage oil.
  • Make your own hand soap using Castilian soap, water, and a few drops of oregano oil.

Instructions for use

diffusion : Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
Use as a food additive : Dilute one drop with 125 mL of liquid.
External application : Mix 5 drops with 10 mL carrier oil for massage. Mix 5 drops with 5 mL carrier oil as a bath additive. Mix 1 drop with 10 drops of carrier oil as a perfume.
