The petitgrain essential oil is extracted from the bitter orange tree, which has long been used in traditional health practices. There are three essential oils that are extracted from the bitter orange tree. Petitgrain is distilled from the leaves and branches of the tree, neroli essential oil is distilled from the flowers, and bitter orange oil is obtained by cold pressing the peel of the fruit. By purchasing petitgrain from Paraguay through our Co-Impact Sourcing ™ initiative, doTERRA can support the projects needed to develop rural communities and provide smallholders with a diversified income. This approach represents an economically viable alternative to clearing land and makes a significant contribution to protecting the remaining areas of the Atlantic rainforest in eastern Paraguay.

  • Goes well with other citrus oils like cassia, cinnamon, eucalyptus, geranium, and lemongrass.
  • Mix petitgrain essential oil with your facial moisturizer to reduce the appearance of blemishes.

diffusion : Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
Use as a food additive: Dilute one drop with 125 ml of liquid.
External use: Mix 5 drops with 10 ml of carrier oil for massage. Mix 5 drops with 5 ml of carrier oil as a bath additive. Mix 1 drop with 10 drops of carrier oil as a fragrance.
